Inline VALOF

Hi all,

We've just been discussing changes to the occam-pi syntax. One of the
perpetual bugbears for parsing occam is inline VALOF blocks, and we're
considering doing away with them entirely (and thus simplifying the
FUNCTION syntax).

Has anybody:

- used inline VALOF in real code at all?

- found interesting uses for inline VALOF (that can't be obtained as
  elegantly using named FUNCTIONs)?
