Re: Anybody seen this?

Hi Herman,

What would be the benefit over a teraflop GPU (combined with e.g. a dataflow paradigm such as SystemC) except for power consumption? I'm in robotics, so I can appreciate it, if the only benefit IS actually the power consumption. :-)

In the movie they call their Eclipse plugin Sigma-C, perhaps that's what you heard.

Kind regards,

Anne

Hi Øyvind, Adrian,

I had a talk with of their people at the stand. I noticed that the website talks about DataFlow Programming.
At the stand I got the name Signal-C. There are some folders.
If I remember correctly a board with 1 chip is around EUR 100.
They have a workstation containing one or more boards including software for about EUR 10000.
I have some flyers at work, that I could scan and email to you.

Cheers,

Herman

I couldn't find a data sheet, so pretty hard to evaluate. But it looks
interesting. I didn't see an evaluation board either, so presumably they
haven't quite got a real product yet?

Hi,

Did anybody see this: http://www.kalray.eu/ ?
I visited their stand at Embedded World.
Manycore MIMD processing with synchronous communication in “Signal-C”.
Much like transputing with many (256+) cores on one chip.

Looks very interesting, and is not really expensive.

Cheers,

Herman
