Sun now has its proposed rt-Java for hearing. See

ImmortalMemory, RawMemoryAccess, AsynchEventHandler, Timer, clock, 
ATC=Asynchronous Transfer of Control, PosixSignalHandler, 
MonitorControl, NoHeapRealtimeThread, RealtimeSystem, RealtimeThread, 
Scheduler.

In my oponion, it's more interesting than J Consortium's:
