I suppose a priority channel with this concept needs to know the 
global order of priority. What if the priority modifier just wants 
to rotate priorities without caring who's who? Perhaps the priority
channel protocol needs to have some defined keywords as well, so 
that any priority scheme, absolute and relative, may be realised?
